Scallion tempura
A great appetizer, elegant garnish. Tender green onions becomes crispy and sweet after roasting in hot oil.

Ingredients

  • Shallots

    4 piece

  • Wine white semi-dry

    70 g

  • Flour

    50 g

  • Salt

    0.25 tsp

  • Black pepper

    0.25 tsp

  • Vegetable oil

    50 ml

Besides Luke, we need white wine and flour. Better to take a shallot, but you can successfully use regular green onions.

4 take the tail of the bow. Cut off the leaves, as pictured. Cut each tail of the bow lengthwise into two parts.

Make the batter - whisk thoroughly mix the flour with the wine. The batter should not be thick. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper. Dip onion in batter.

Fry the onion in the oil in a frying pan at a medium heat until crisp, 2-3 minutes. Turn over the onions while cooking, carefully and only after batter is well set.
