I have many years of "friends" with the yoghurt at home :)Tried cooking in a thermos and heated the oven, too, but I prefer the yogurt makers. I have two of them - in the country with one liter capacity. And here's with the cups. Conveniently serve portions. The yogurt maker is the simplest and cheapest-operate reliably.

Begin to cook. in a bowl I measure out the right amount of milk (I just sometimes banks take a bigger size) and heat it to 40 degrees. Boil the milk is not necessary, just a bit warmer than human body temperature. In warm milk add 1.5 tbsp of milk powder (you can, of course without it, but skim milk yogurt will be watery). Stir. Then turn the starter. Today I used ready-made plain yogurt. And the day after ferment has its Cup.

Sometimes, most often in the country, I use dry yeast. The result is also good, tested over the years. But it turns out more expensive.

In the milk add a little vanilla sugar (small bag for baking), but I love natural unsweetened yoghurt. And, by the way, my little granddaughter also loves any additives not only for her, I cook full-fat milk (4-6%) and without added powdered milk.. Next, everything is just poured into jars and put in yogurt maker. Usually for the night. I feel so comfortable. The jars are not pre-sterilized, with lids they are clean and stored in the yogurt maker. And in the morning sent the jars in the fridge and that's it. This yoghurt is stored in the fridge for a few days. Very dense and homogeneous.

In a liter yogurt maker capacity plastic, I my hot water and dry land. And the finished, still warm!, yogurt gently mixed and immediately poured into convenient for me to jars, cover with lids and refrigerate. Nothing settles, the consistency is so, despite the mixing homogeneous. The main condition is that the yogurt must be still warm with stirring.
