Kreplach
Kreplach - this dish Jewish cuisine. These triangular dumplings symbolize the three patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In Western Europe before they were stuffed with meat, while in the Slavic lands in the early XX century they were prepared with cheese stuffing. Later, after the big shortage of meat in Western Europe, there was kreplach with fruits, which are called dumplings. Kreplach are preparing for the holidays. And filling them depends on the occasion. In the Holy festive days kreplach stuffed with meat served in chicken soup, on Purim, they are filled with dried fruits, and Shavuot - cheese. I have a recipe with meat.

Ingredients

  • Chicken egg

    1 piece

  • Flour

    250 g

  • Chicken

    300 g

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Garlic

    1 tooth

  • Vegetable oil

  • Black pepper

  • Salt

  • Green onions

Cooking

From eggs, flour and water knead the dough, as dumplings or ravioli.

Prepare the filling. Onion and garlic finely chop and fry in vegetable oil.

Boiled meat grind in a meat grinder, add fried onion with garlic, sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Roll out the dough thinly and cut into squares about 6 X 6 cm If you have 6 X 5 or 7 X 6, that's cool, too.

In each square put the filling and connect the two opposite ends to form a triangle.

Boil in salted water until tender. Spread on a plate, decorate with green onions. Eat with chicken broth, butter, sour cream, etc.
