Chovlent in a slow cooker
In the fall of 2015 my husband and I were vacationing in the Carpathians and tried a wonderful dish chovlent. I want to share with you the recipe of this dish, cooked in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • Meat

    500 g

  • Beans

    2 cup

  • Pearl barley

    2 cup

  • Onion

    2 piece

  • Carrots

    2 piece

  • Garlic

    4 tooth

  • Bay leaf

    4 sprig

  • Paprika sweet

    0.5 tsp

  • Ketchup

    2 Tbsp

  • Salt

  • Sunflower oil

  • Peppers red hot chilli

Ingredients expect start cooking. Beans and pearl barley after soaking (the proportion should be 1:1) diced the Onion and carrots grated on a grater. The meat (ribs) washed and dried.

Turn on the Browning feature in a slow cooker. Brown the meat (ribs) in fat (oil) until crisp.

Add onion, carrots, salt, ground pepper, paprika, garlic and fry for another 5 minutes.

Now add the tomato ketchup and turn off the Browning function.

It's time to add the beans, pearl barley, Bay leaves. Mix everything. Pour warm water on 2-3 cm above all the igridienty.

Include quick cooking for 30 minutes ( the pressure cooker). This is enough to chovlent was ready (tested once). Close the lid multivarki.

After the slow cooker will release excess steam, open the lid and... Oh miracle... it smells incredible!

All a pleasant appetite! PS I Have the slow cooker Cook4Me pressure cooker (Moulinex CE 7011). If your slow cooker is not the function of a pressure-cooker, the cooking time should be increased.
