Soup mackerel with millet
Simple and very quick soup, but, however, one of the most beloved of my husband. I always cooked it with rice and then decided to experiment a bit for the sake of diversity... And we loved it!

Ingredients

  • Mackerel

    2 can

  • Water

    2.5 l

  • Carrots

    1 piece

  • Celery root

    80 g

  • Potatoes

    4 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Millet

    1 pack

Weight already peeled vegetables. Carrots and celery slice into strips, potato cubes.

Fish extract from the water, remove the bones and divide into pieces. If you're lucky to see the mackerel natural with no added oil, be sure to bring it. I always buy several bottles to stock, it rarely happens.

Spasserovat roots until soft in small amount of vegetable oil. It is possible, even necessary, to add a finely chopped onion. I rarely put in the soup chopped onion, because my mom doesn't eat. Cook the onion whole, then throw out.

In boiling water, drop the thoroughly rinsed millet, bring to a boil, add the potatoes, again bring to a boil, add salt to taste, reduce the heat and cook at low boil 10 minutes.

Add the browned vegetables and fish, bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low.

Add 2 Bay leaves and cook on low heat until the potatoes are done (about 5 minutes). Turn off the heat, cover the soup with a lid and let stand 5-10 minutes.
