Soup with barley and sauerkraut
Simple, hearty, winter soup with pearl barley and sauerkraut!

Ingredients

  • Broth

    2.5 l

  • Pearl barley

    100 g

  • Sauerkraut

    250 g

  • Vegetable oil

    3 Tbsp

  • Potatoes

    3 piece

  • Carrots

    1 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Flour

    1 Tbsp

  • Greens

  • Garlic

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • Bay leaf

    2 piece

Cooking

Pearl barley well washed.

Potatoes cut into cubes.

In the boiling broth add potatoes, pearl barley and Bay leaves, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 20-25 minutes.

Finely chop the onion, carrot grate on a coarse grater or cut into strips.

Preheat a frying pan vegetable oil and fry the onions and carrots over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

Add 1 tbsp flour, mix quickly

And add sauerkraut. Mix well. Pour 5-6 tbsp of the broth and stew for 5-6 minutes.

To try barley if it is almost ready, add the vegetables to the saucepan. If you need salt, add black pepper. To cook under a lid until cooked cereals.

Before shutting down to add your favorite chopped greens.
