Appetizer
If I need to feed my husband, I never ask what he wants, so I already know: fried potatoes and salted herring. Today I decided to prepare original appetizer, combining these two dishes into one. Shot of vodka would not hurt. The husband served in the army for almost 30 years. "For those who walk in boots" - a little rough, but a good army toast.

Ingredients

  • Herring

    200 g

  • Dry red wine

    50 ml

  • Vinegar

    1 tsp

  • Black pepper

  • Sugar

    1 Tbsp

  • Vegetable oil

    4 Tbsp

  • Onion

    2 piece

  • Greens

    1 Tbsp

  • Potatoes

    4 piece

  • Chicken egg

    1 piece

  • Potato starch

    1 Tbsp

  • Dill

    1 Tbsp

  • Nutmeg

    1 tsp

  • Salt

  • Lettuce

  • Cranberry

    2 Tbsp

Cooking

First take the ingredients for marinating herring.

The cleaned salted herring from the bones, skins, undressed on fillet.

Cut the herring into pieces. Peel onion, cut into rings.

Prepare a marinade of the wine, acetic acid, sugar, pepper, vegetable oil, chopped greens.

Pour the marinade herring and onions.

Then proceed to cooking baskets of potatoes where we enjoyed our herring. Here is the products needed for this.

Expect one large potato into the basket. I made 4 baskets. I have your potatoes small, so I took 5 pieces. Peeled potatoes grate (like carrots in Korean).

In grated potato put egg, starch, nutmeg, dried dill, salt.

Mix thoroughly.

Molds lubricated with oil although they are silicone, but decided to play it safe. And spread the potato mixture, forming it from the bottom and sides. Put the ramekins in a preheated 200 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Cooled in the basket lay out the pickled herring. Serve on lettuce leaf, sprinkle the top with cranberries.
