This is a very tasty and unusual appetizer. Even without a photo this recipe has been very well received by Cooks. Change to colorful. Recipe tested repeatedly.

Cooking
Onions need to be washed for 2-3 min in a hot way.
Then drain the water and onion to cool quickly under running cold water. Clear from the husk, root necks and earlobes. And soak at least 30 minutes in cold salted water.
Drain the water, place the onions in sterile jars, pour boiling marinade, roll up sterile lids. You can turn upside down and wrap until cool. For marinade: water mixed with vinegar, salt, spices and sugar to taste (I typically 1.5 to 2 tbsp per liter of marinade). Bring to boil, boil for a few minutes, stirring so that all the salt has dissolved.
Kept well at room temperature. And do better in small jars, because outdoor onion deteriorates quickly!
