Mediterranean yoghurt cake
2016 best pie of the year by the Washington Post. With subtle citrus flavor, dense texture, moderately humid, with minimal sweetness. To cook very easily and quickly.

Ingredients

  • Flour

    1.5 cup

  • Chicken egg

    3 piece

  • Leavening agent

    2 tsp

  • Salt

    0.25 tsp

  • Yogurt

    0.66 cup

  • Vegetable oil

    0.333 cup

  • Orange

    1 piece

  • Sugar

    0.5 cup

  • Vanilla essence

    1.5 tsp

In the beginning, prepare the citrus sugar. Orange zest thoroughly wipe with sugar until then, until it became moist and flavorful.

Orange cleaned, remove the white film, cut into slices and spread on a paper towel.

Mix flour with baking powder and salt.

In sugar added yogurt. Stir add the eggs one by one and finally the vanilla essence.

Mix the flour mixture with the liquid ingredients and add the vegetable oil. Once again mix everything.

Pour the batter into the pan (I have a 24.5 cm). On top lay the slices of orange. Bake at 170 degrees for about 40-50 minutes.

Our cake is ready! The next day it becomes even tastier. Pie can be stored up to 5 days.
