This cake is to big of a sweet tooth, a recipe I borrowed from the cook from another site, try it I was the same that quoted line above.

Cooking
In a bowl for whipping to drive the eggs and add sugar.
Add melted margarine or butter, baking powder, vanilla, cocoa.
Turned out very thick batter, put in a baking dish and bake until tender 40-50 minutes (checking match). Often the oven will not open.
Cook the syrup. Let cool and pour in the cognac.
Korzh cut into 2 or 3 layers (I have 3) impregnated with syrup.
The top layer of the cake and sides lubricated with glaze and put in the fridge to harden for about 30 min.
