Asked my daughter on New year's cake herringbone... much she wanted a sweet and beautiful Christmas tree. And asked for 30 of Dec.. When I was planning a very different cake to do... I had my Muse to work very hard to fulfill the dream of the child. I'm not a magician, but it turned out beautiful and delicious! Cooking
To be honest, I originally planned to do step-by-step photos, as didn't know what I can do. First, I drew on parchment the Christmas tree that would fit in my pan. My Christmas tree height 24,3 cm, width upper branch is 12 cm, the average is 24.3 cm, base 20 cm I cut out one template for honey cakes and painted 2 Christmas trees 2 sheets of parchment paper for meringues. Honey cakes: Combine honey, sugar, butter and eggs in a pan, put in a water bath, boil for 10 minutes to dissolve sugar and honey. Then add soda, mix well, the mixture will turn white, remove and cool slightly, until warm. Add sifted cocoa, mix, then gradually add the sifted flour. Knead the dough, place it in a bag and in the cold for 30 min. In principle, everything is simple, it is the most common honey dough. Then divide the dough into 5 parts. Every part put on parchment, roll out thinly, apply the template and cut the excess with a knife.
Here are a few not exactly, since I slightly overdid it and too thinly unrolled, the dough is a bit torn and I had to add.
Bake cakes in preheated oven at 180 degrees for 7 minutes. Bake for 5 firs.
From the remnants of dough, I made cookies and these balls, which are made using the thimble.
Now a Christmas tree made from meringue. About the camera I remembered, when it started to draw. 2 protein vzbit in a solid foam with salt so that if you turn the bowl upside down, the whites will remain in place. Then 1 tbsp, add sugar (100 g) and mix on low speed with a mixer. Add the vanilla, mix well. To shift proteins in a dense file, make a small hole and draw the outline of the Christmas trees on parchment (the one with a painted tree).
Then squeeze out I've found all the meringue inside the trees so that everything was smooth. I did 2 layers. Bake in a hot oven at 160 degrees for 90 minutes (I have a convection oven). Then allow to cool in the oven and remove the paper.
To make a second batch of meringue and draw the outline in the layer 2 tree and decorate as desired. Bake in a hot oven at 140 degrees for 10 minutes, allow to cool in the oven and remove the paper.
Of the remaining protein to make meringue cookies inside. Can balls of honey pastry first, bake, and can be left raw. On top of meringue and bake in the oven at 160 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes.
And here's a Christmas tree. How did the cream, alas, not photographed... But I so will tell, it's simple. Custard: combine sugar with flour, pour the milk, stir well to avoid lumps and put it on the fire. Stirring constantly, do not boil! Cook until thick. As soon as begins to thicken, add the chocolate, mix well until dissolved. Remove from heat, add butter, stir and cool. Cream condensed milk: condensed milk boil for 1 hour, cool, then add natural yogurt and soft butter, beat with a mixer until smooth.
Now collect the cake. The first three honey cake thickly greased custard.
Put the top crust of the meringue and lubricated thickly with condensed milk.
Then again 2 of honey cake with custard. Put on top of the cake - the decoration of the meringue. To soak 6 or more hours. I can say that new year's eve we did not reach the cake.

Glue the cookies with condensed milk. Very tasty. They helped the child to wait for the cake...:)
