Cottage pie with cauliflower
Cottage pie with cauliflower and green peas. Shepherd's pie (eng. cottage pie, shepherd's pie) — casserole of meat and mashed potatoes, a traditional dish of British cuisine. The classic recipe includes the obligatory pie filling is made of minced lamb. The version with ground beef is properly called Cottage Pie — cottage pie.

  • Minced meat

Prepare the ingredients. Potatoes clean. Cauliflower wash and break it into florets. Potatoes and cauliflower boil in salted water until tender. Carrots, tomatoes and onions into cubes.

In a deep frying pan, heat 2 tbsp of olive oil, add the onion and carrot, fry for 3-5 minutes.

Add the ground beef, cook stirring for another 5-10 minutes, until the meat is brown.

Add the tomato paste, tomatoes, broth, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil. Add green peas and cook, stirring, 15-20 minutes, to reach desired consistency. Don't be alarmed if the liquid will be much, the cake will still hold the shape, and the meat will be more juicy.

Ready stuffing cool slightly and put in a baking dish.

In a bowl put boiled potatoes and cauliflower, pour the milk and blend until smooth. If necessary, add salt.

Spread mashed potatoes over the filling and butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees, 30-35 minutes.
