Mashed potatoes Indian style
Ah, potatoes... Probably no one person in the whole world who would not be familiar with that word. And how many dishes from this wonderful vegetable - not to count! But most probably familiar and the familiar to all from childhood dish is mashed potatoes. Today I want to tell you how to cook this wonderful dish in the Indian style. To make it more useful and to give unique flavors and aroma.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes

    500 g

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Butter

    100 g

  • Yogurt

    100 g

  • Salt

    1 tsp

  • Spices

Cooking

step-0
First prepare a pound of potatoes. It is about 5 pieces potatoes medium size.
step-1
So, it all starts with cooking. Most people boil peeled potatoes, but this is absolutely wrong! Most of the vitamins and nutrients contained in the peel and when we cook the potatoes (not peeled), it retains nearly all of its benefits and, equally important, a potato is MUCH tastier.
step-2
While cooking potatoes, we cook (saute) the onion. Melt in a pan full tablespoon of butter, pour finely chopped onions and fry on medium heat, stirring occasionally. I want to note that stir-frying onion in butter pales in comparison with frying in oil or fat. Onion in butter turns out many times more tasty and more useful. It is also worth noting that even better and more beneficial to use clarified butter GHEE, the recipe of which I posted here: http://www.povarenok .ru/recipes/show/234 13/.
step-3
Cook the spices. There is a huge space for your flight of fancy. From the kind of spices used will depend on the flavors and aroma of the finished dish. What spices can be used in conjunction with potatoes you can find in my community, in this article: http://www.povarenok .EN/blog/show/7368/.
step-4
Now peel the potatoes peeled, rastolchem it until smooth, add more butter, toasted onion and mix with salt and spices.
step-5
The ready dish is served with yogurt and your favorite sauce, sprinkle with herbs. That's all! Be happy and healthy! Bon appetit!
