Description
Rösti, the Swiss believe their national dish, it mainly consists of grated (finely shredded) potatoes. Sometimes they add onions, bacon or cheese. Initially, a potato served Breakfast to the farmers, but today it is served in many restaurants as a side dish or addition to other dishes.

Potatoes to grate on a coarse grater or finely chop sticks. Cut onion finely or grate, add salt, nutmeg, mix well.
In a well-heated vegetable oil pan to put the vegetables. Flatten with a spatula and press down lightly. (I deviated from the recipe and added shredded pepper!).
Then cover with a lid and cook on low heat until almost cooked potatoes and Browning on one side. Flip the potato cake and cook until Browning on the other side. Cover already don't cover. Serve with vegetables, meat or sprinkle with herbs onions, dill or parsley. In my version, the tomatoes are stuffed with cheese and garlic.
