Thick Armenian soup with lentils
A recipe shared with me friend. I've never been in Armenia and I don't know, do you prepare this soup in this beautiful country, but a familiar voiced the title that way.

Take a whole chicken and remove it from the skin. This is important. Excess fat we don't need in this recipe. Remove the skin carefully so as then in the case to stuff it or make rolls ). In General, it is at your discretion. I didn't get to shoot her beautiful, broken wings.

The four liter pot. Fill the chicken with water, add salt, add turmeric. In the recipe it was not, it is my personal preference. Not for flavor, for color. You need to cook until the moment when the hen started soft after boiling. In this step I also deviated from the recipe. The original was so "Cook the chicken, remove it from the broth, half of it pour out". I have broth and it turned out not very much, I strained it and added some water. While the chicken cools. The broth is delivered to the lentils. My pan left 350 gr. lentils. Keep in mind that it absorbs the broth (for those not know). The consistency should be a thick soup or very thin porridge. Chicken we will only need the breast. Legs and wings are not needed. Analyze it on fiber or finely chop and add to the lentils. The fire on the stove is minimal.

Are dressing to the soup. This was the biggest deviation from the recipe due to dietary habits of some members of my family. Three tomatoes on a grater. We have mashed potatoes without the peel. Also on the grater grate the garlic, depending on your preference, I took 6 teeth. Add to the tomatoes. There prescription it is necessary to add a tablespoon of sugar and tomato paste. I did not add it. And squeeze half of the lemon, a little salt, stir and add the mixture to the soup. Cook all together for 5-7 minutes more

Cut the cilantro. I realize that I will fly tomatoes, the cilantro is no substitute, its flavor complements dishes, etc. But Yes! I noticed it on the parsley! We do not eat cilantro and that's it. Add to soup, stir and remove from heat.
