Ingredients

  • Gooseberry

    1 kg

  • Water

    200 ml

  • Sugar

    1 kg

Cooking

step-0
To go into the garden to find a Bush of gooseberry, to make sure it's the gooseberries and not currants and collect a bowl (bowl, bucket) ripened berries. Or to the market...
step-1
Berries to sort, marred and bitten someone? throw away without regret, to weigh (or to use the old grandmother's way: faceted glass berries +faceted glass sugar). So, berries weigh, I got 2 kg of Thoroughly washed under running water... No ponytails to cut off not necessary.
step-2
Berries knead a wooden pestle or potato masher.
step-3
To pretty mashed berries add water, 2 kg of berries, and therefore, add 2 cups of water and cook over low heat, stirring all the time, I simultaneously crushed the berries into a puree until they begin to separate the juice.
step-4
Then the contents of the pan to pass through a fine sieve
step-5
and strain through a folded in 2-3 layers cheesecloth.
step-6
The resulting juice pour into a measuring bowl in order to find the quantity of the juice, to heat, bring to a boil and boil for 7-8 minutes in boiling juice add sugar (based on 1 kg of sand per 1 liter of juice) and boil until the sugar is dissolved.
step-7
The resulting mass pour into sterilized banks and cool.
step-8
A pleasant tea, and.... brinicombe with jelly, for example.
