Description
Misunderstanding: with this nickname and still not to post the recipe for cranberry in sugar. Today I decided to fix it and to bring to your attention a classic recipe such a favorite all the Goodies. By the way, a particular fondness for this dish was fed by Alexander Pushkin. Once in the tavern "At Pozharsky" he tried cranberries with sugar and came in so excited that I was able to find a recipe and often after that, ate a cranberry house. For example, in the memoirs of E. E. and a senior research associate you can read: "... often in the evenings were treated to Alexander cranberries, which he loved. Cranberries in sugar commonly put to him on a silver platter." PS I Want to thank Sarah (nuf_nuf) that inspired me for this recipe and shared this interesting historical fact.

Cooking
For this dish is perfect to take fresh cranberries. I, unfortunately, was only frozen and I decided to take a chance to use her, even though she was afraid it would be watery and won't work. But my fears were not confirmed, and therefore with all responsibility I declare: cranberry suitable for both fresh and frozen. Important thing is to choose large whole (intact) berries.
So, if cranberries are fresh, then wash it and dry it. If the berries are frozen, defrost them and also dry.
In a bowl pour the egg whites slightly and stir it with a fork. There also pour the cranberries and gently mix so as not to damage the berries.
At the bottom of a deep pan pour some powdered sugar, spread on top of cranberries at a small distance from each other. Top again sprinkle with powder and covering the pan with a lid or just hand perekidyvaem and gently shake berries in it.
Once each berry is evenly covered with powder sugar, you can remove the first portion of cranberry and put it on a plate. With the rest of the berries all done in the same pattern. Leave the cranberries to dry for 20-30 minutes: enough to the frosting hardened.
That's all the cranberries in sugar ready! Brew strong tea, read Pushkin and enjoy a wonderful dessert.
