Beet appetizer with yogurt, horseradish and herring
Prepare this snack for a long time and always a great success! I saw this recipe in the magazine "Gourmet" (Greek edition)... and introduced the taste... Yes, with herring (the Greeks have no idea what it is!) and potatoes! mmm... thought not live!!! Try it!

Ingredients

  • Beets

    300 g

  • Green onions

    70 g

  • Dry red wine

    150 ml

  • Bay leaf

    1 piece

  • Salt

  • Horseradish

    2 Tbsp

  • Yogurt

    150 g

  • Herring

    200 g

  • Red onion

    1 piece

  • Potatoes

    1 kg

  • Garlic

    1 tooth

In a small sauce pan place wine, Bay leaf 2-3 PCs. pepper peas, a little salt, boil until the liquid is reduced by half. Allow to cool and place the onions, garlic and sliced beets, leave overnight in the fridge.

Drain the marinade, it is possible not completely, add horseradish...

yogurt, if necessary, season with salt and pepper.

Serve with herring, black bread and potatoes, well, white... and of course!!! PS In the original were asked to cook the onion and garlic in the marinade, but it seemed to me that fresh onion and garlic are delicious! Herring and potatoes are my addition, they are something!!! Agree?!
