Scottish bread
Delicious, soft bread with a crispy crust, ideal for Breakfast.

Ingredients

  • Milk

    175 ml

  • Water

    175 ml

  • Yeast

    20 g

  • Flour

    3.5 cup

  • Salt

    1 tsp

  • Sugar

    1 tsp

To prepare the products. This recipe makes 8 loaves. I did half portions. In a Cup mix the milk and water, add sugar, crumble the yeast, stir and leave for 15 minutes.

3 cups flour sift in a large bowl, add the salt and yeast coming up.

Mix well. Spread on floured table and knead dont stick to hands elastic and soft dough (I have in total took exactly 3.5 cups of flour).

Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover and leave in a warm place for 1-1,5 hours to go.

Coming up the dough to hit sharply a few times with his fist to release the air and leave for 10 minutes to rest.

Then lightly knead, divided into 8 parts.

From each part to roll a ball. From each ball to roll out the circle with a diameter of about 10-12 cm and a height of 1-1,5 see Put them on a parchment lined baking sheet, pre sprinkled it with flour.

Lubricate bapsy milk and sprinkle the top with flour.

Leave for 40 minutes to come up, covered with a towel.
