Cooking
"Julia" is one of those movies that I can revise constantly. Honestly, I like the part where Julia child show performed by Meryl Streep. With admiration and affection I look at how this beautiful woman discovers the cuisine of France is looking for a case for the soul, and not afraid to step over all the conventions and obstacles and become the best apprentice chef among men. Julia for me - the perfect way Wome. Smart, self-sufficient, passionate, passionate about nature, which shares all these qualities with my husband! After all, what we do, we do for love. That is why closes my star week, the recipe for this cake, which the characters in the film eating right hands from too much emotion to food and each other.
With this recipe it all came together at once. The first time I've made it a birthday to your sweet Princess on the recipe I found in LJ. In it the author claimed that the cake should be moist and ready in just 25 minutes. The first time I did it, tried it - clearly not ready. Back in the oven for another 10 minutes, again - not ready, 10 more - that was like something edible. Cooled, decorated and served to the table. Ate, I basically liked it, but I was expecting something more, so again, stuck in the Internet and found a recipe from the book Julia child. That's when everything happened with a Bang!
So, let's proceed! First we need to boil some coffee. I love the Turk, so I used it. Proportions: 1 teaspoon of coffee, 3 tablespoons of water. Boil, drain and pour into a saucepan 2 tbsp.
Finely smash 120g. chocolate and add to coffee. Put the pan in a water bath and stir to dissolve the chocolate.
30 minutes before preparation of the cake remove from the refrigerator butter. It should be soft. Cut him into small pieces and mix with sugar.
Separate the yolks from proteins to enter in oil, one egg yolk, continuing to whisk until until the mixture becomes like a cream. It took me about 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl whip the egg whites with a pinch of salt and tablespoon of sugar until stable peaks.
Slightly cooled chocolate enter the butter cream, stir.
Send almonds in a blender or coffee grinder and grind to a state of fine flour, but do it not long, the nuts have not started to bleed oil.
Add almonds and one-third protein to the chocolate-oil test.
Combine flour and starch and sift them together in a separate container. In the batter type the third and mix. In turn enter the flour and proteins. With this procedure, the cake turns out light and crumbly.
Coat a baking dish with oil and priciples flour. Pour the batter into the pan a couple of times to roll and send in the oven for 35-45 minutes. It took me 38, but you'll be able to simply determine the readiness of the cake the toothpick should be dry. For baking I use a split form with a diameter of 21cm. The first time I cooked for 5 people, little happened. Each just piece by piece. If you cook for larger numbers, increase the amount of ingredients.
Take out the cake, remove the form and leave to cool for 30-40 minutes.
Prepare the glaze - melt the chocolate in a water bath. Add the cognac and mix.
Add the butter in small portions and stir so that the frosting has become glossy. Give it a rest for about 15 minutes and start decorating the cake.
Cover the cake with glaze and sprinkle sides and on the edges of almond. That's all!) I added a strawberry to spice, but it is not mandatory bar.
Take one biographical history of Julia child, which in 1950-e years taught American Housewives secrets of French Haute cuisine, creating a number of iconic cookbooks and popular gastronomy show. Add one true story of Julie Powell, who in 2000-ies became interested in the art of cooking and have learned from books, Julia child, describing his experiences in the blog and testing the resulting dishes for a very happy husband. Mix with fresh humor, the spice of family life and love air, and You have the most delicious film. This is a useful and uplifting movie-a dish designed for the whole family, and with a hot Cup of tea and a slice of this cake any day immediately becomes festive!
