Cooking
1. The most time-consuming step of cooking this dish is shredding the cabbage. I personally use a mandoline.
2. Chopped cabbage should be a little less than half of the pan. The saucepan is better to take a thick-walled or non-stick coating, as dish will be very thick during cooking may burn.
3. Prepare the vegetables: potatoes, carrots, beets, onions. Half of the beets and carrots medium put directly into the pot (for color and delicate taste). Potatoes (choose a variety that is well boiled), you can put whole, but you can cut it into large pieces.

8. Add the ground pepper, Bay leaf, chopped parsley. Cook kapustnyak another 10 minutes, stirring constantly. (Attention! The dish may burn!) At this stage in the meat version of kapusniak You can add chopped corned beef, smoked pork ribs, brisket, etc.
9. The dish is ready. Add sour cream to the table! The kapustnyak is very suitable for a sandwich with rye bread, Ukrainian lard and garlic (well, not exactly lean, but tasty option).
