Berlin scones with jam
Berlin scones with jam are an indispensable attribute of new year and Christmas holidays in Germany. I suggest to You to enjoy this delicious treat! For the contest "new year tastes of the planet."

Ingredients

  • Flour

    500 g

  • Yeast

    50 g

  • Butter

    70 g

  • Milk

    200 ml

  • Chicken egg

    2 piece

  • Egg white

    1 piece

  • Salt

  • Jam

    100 g

  • Chocolate milk

    400 g

  • Powdered sugar

    100 g

Mix half of the sugar and yeast in a bowl and leave for 5 minutes in a warm place. Melt the butter and add the warm milk and eggs. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt and remaining sugar. Make a well in center of flour mixture deepening and put there the yeast and milk with butter. Knead the dough. Cover it with a damp cloth and leave in a warm place for the dough rise.

Form the dough into balls weighing 50 grams each. Leave them for 10-15 minutes.

Roll each ball into a pancake, brush it with egg white and in the middle put a tablespoon of jam.

Secure the edges of the buns, place on a baking sheet, cover with towel and put in a warm place. Bake in a hot oven until Golden brown.

In Germany, sprinkle muffins with brown sugar, I decided to embellish buns and make them into Christmas balls. Melt the chocolate in a water bath, cooled on rolls pour melted chocolate, refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Decorate the buns with bows (bow fastened to the bun with a wooden skewer).
