Description

Cucumber salad
A classic combination of flavors: cucumber, onion and dill, with a light peppery note. A light salad for starters. Goes well with boiled potatoes and meat dishes as a Supplement.

Ingredients

  • Cucumber

    1 kg

  • Onion

    0.5 kg

  • Dill

    250 g

  • Garlic

    2 tooth

  • Salt

    1 Tbsp

  • Sugar

    1.5 Tbsp

  • Black pepper

    0.333 tsp

  • Allspice

    5 piece

  • Vinegar

    4 Tbsp

  • Vegetable oil

    4 Tbsp

Cooking

Wash cucumbers and soak in cold water for 2-3 hours.

Peel the onion and garlic. Cucumbers cut into slices with a thickness of 3-5 mm., onions cut into half rings with a thickness of 2-3 mm., garlic cut into slices, dill chopped.

Fold the vegetables and herbs in a saucepan with a thick bottom, add the salt and sugar. Stir and leave for 1 hour. Add peppers, vinegar and oil. Stir and leave for 1 hour.

Put the saucepan on a medium heat, bring to boil and simmer 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. (cucumbers will change its color).

Lay in sterilized jars and close with sterilized lids. Flip, wrap until cool.
