Mix the miso paste with a few tablespoons of broth. The original recipe uses red Korean miso paste Doenjang. I am in Korea, which replaced the usual Japanese miso paste with the addition of pastes of red pepper. Add to soup, stir, remove from heat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
