Czech thick aromatic soup made from several types of cereals

  • Pearl barley

    0.5 piece

  • Flour

    40 g

  • Lard

    40 g

  • Salt

  • Allspice

  • Marjoram

  • Thyme

  • Milk

    0.5 cup

In this recipe, I used bean brand cereals "Mistral"

Grains pre soak for several hours in cold water.

Vegetables and roots clean, cut. In a saucepan with a thick bottom to melt the lard, add flour, cook flour browned vegetables. Add chopped vegetables, fry. Add the grits, fry a little. Add water about 2 cm above the level of the croup. Cook on low heat until cooked cereals about 50 minutes. Salt, pepper, add spices. If desired, add milk or cream, boil again.
