Lenten carrot cake
Perfect dessert for those who are fasting and for those who appreciate a healthy lifestyle. Recipe from "My globe" spring 2014. In Russia, the carrots were the basis of many recipes such as in peasant and wealthy families. And it was said: "And carrots you eat, if the Apple is not." When baking carrot practically does not lose useful properties. Perfect with nuts, raisins, apples and various other products.

Ingredients

  • Flour

    200 g

  • Carrots

    1 piece

  • Raisins

  • Walnuts

    100 g

  • Olive oil

    8 Tbsp

  • Water

    150 ml

  • Sugar

    150 g

  • Leavening agent

    3 tsp

To start making a candy baby. Mix 50 g flour + 30 g sugar + 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir and grind by hand. Put into the fridge for 15 minutes while preparing everything else.

Now knead the dough. In a bowl mix the flour+sugar and baking powder, stir, add olive oil and water, stir again.

Carrots peel, wash and grate (large). Raisins (pre-washed and soaked in warm water) pour the water and add the dough, there also send shredded carrots.

I baked a cake in a slow cooker. Cut a circle of baking paper, put on the bottom, that would be easier to get. Put the dough.

Gently spread on top of half a walnut, sprinkle pastry crumbs (this step I forgot to photograph). Close the slow cooker, set the mode pastries, time: 90 minutes. Pie can be cooked in the oven. Pre-heat the oven to 180 gr. bake for about an hour - look at your oven, check cake with a toothpick.
