Rice pudding with Apple and meringue
Casseroles of rice I cook often, but this turned my views on the usual dish of rice. Who was in Bulgaria, probably remember this hospitable country Lecho, lyutenitsa, the bannitsu, tarator, cheese, Imam Baldi, pogacha, chorba, bell wine... And it turned out, rice pudding is on the menu of almost every institution. Very popular with rose water and decorated with rose petal (after all Bulgaria is famous for roses), as well with all sorts of nuts, but I loved this. It turned out just a holiday flavor.

Ingredients

  • Sugar

    130 g

  • Egg white

  • Milk

    1.5 cup

  • Apple

    0.5 kg

It's very simple and fast. First thing get an egg from the fridge, separate the white from the yolk, cover and place in a warm place to keep warm.

Let us further rice – you can boil, as milk and water, don't forget about the proportions of water, pour a little less than milk. So, wash the rice, fill with water, add a tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of salt, bring to a boil, turn down the heat to low, cover tightly with a lid and cook for 15-18 minutes.

While cooking the rice, peel and cut the apples if they are sweet, then add the lemon juice, pour 50 ml of water and

Leave to simmer until soft, over medium heat, about 10 minutes.

Soft apples beat with a blender or wipe through a sieve.

Cooked rice, combine with mashed potatoes, flavoured with cinnamon, zest and sugar better than brown, stir and put in a baking dish.

Now squirrels, that's probably the most difficult stage. If you never beat the squirrels or you have nothing left, then following a few simple rules, you will achieve excellent results. Mixing occurs continuously in several stages. After about half a minute will appear large bubbles, and then the mass begins to turn white and increase in volume. Whisk for another minute or two and put on rice-Apple mixture. And, even if you do in batches, do not forget that the meringue increases in volume. If you do not want to make protein the top, boldly put in a casserole the pieces of butter and bake so. Oven already heated to 160 degrees there and send our pudding for about 30 minutes.
