Description

Bulgarian pie
Since ancient times, the Slavs met all the holidays big family. And the main course and the best decoration of the table were pies. Huge air...... and endlessly delicious.. Bulgaria is famous for its simple and homemade cuisine, with the abundance of vegetables and dairy products, elegant and sweet pastries. No wonder, tutmanik is one of the traditional holiday pies baked from yeast dough with a stuffing of cheese. The name of the pie so deeply sunk into the soul, I couldn't resist and made it.

Ingredients

  • Yeast dough

    500 g

  • Chicken egg

    1 piece

  • Butter

    100 g

  • Cheese

    1.5 cup

Cooking

step-0
Everything is useful to us. If you cook the dough yourself, you can knead not bread, and hands, it will, of course, even better - a yeast dough loves hands.
step-1
To get the dough, I just added these ingredients to the bread machine bowl: 2 tsp dry yeast 500 grams of wheat flour 2 tsp salt 3 tbsp sugar 2 pieces of eggs 45 g butter 220ml water
step-2
After two hours the dough is ready.
step-3
Divide into 6 parts.
step-4
Roll out each into a circle with a diameter of 15cm, folded at the 3 circles together accurately abundantly softened butter.
step-5
Now the two resulting stack is rolled in a circle with a diameter of about 30 cm.
step-6
Form grease with oil, put one of the resulting circles, making a small rim. Grease liberally with oil, evenly distribute shredded cheese on top and put a little oil.
step-7
Cover with second pie circle and tighten the edges together, bringing them slightly up, making a nice edge. Cover the top with oiled baking paper and sent in a heated to 40*C oven for 1 hour for proofing (you can just put in any warm place, but I use the oven). The rest of the butter with a whisk then mix it with the egg.
step-8
The butter-egg mixture cover the top of the cake and send in a preheated 180*C oven for 45 minutes.
step-9
The cake turns out delicious, airy, with a subtle hint of salty cheese.
step-10
A wonderful addition to a strong sweet tea.
