Millet Kugel with raisins
Kugel is a dish, the average between a pudding and a casserole. They use egg filling without the addition of milk. I made Kugel from wheat and cheese. Turned out very tasty and healthy casserole with raisins and drizzled fruit glaze. Perfect for Breakfast or dinner!

Ingredients

  • Millet

    0.66 cup

  • Butter

    2 Tbsp

  • Water

    2 cup

  • Cheese

    200 g

  • Chicken egg

    3 piece

  • Honey

    2 Tbsp

  • Sugar

    200 g

  • Vanilla

    1 pack

  • Nutmeg

    0.5 tsp

  • Raisins

    0.5 cup

  • Salt

  • Juice

    100 ml

Cooking

Millet wash, fill with water and leave for a few hours. Then wash again and drain the water.

One tablespoon of butter heated in the pan, add the millet and deep fried it for 5 minutes until fragrant and Golden brown.

In a saucepan boil 2 cups of water (or milk) and put the toasted millet. Cover with a lid and on low heat cook until tender, not forgetting to stir.

Mix the cheese, eggs and honey. You can slightly sweeten, I added a spoonful of sugar. Whisk the mixture until smooth.

Put cooked millet in cottage cheese and stir until smooth,

and add nutmeg,

raisins and salt. Once again mix everything. Preheat the oven until t 200 p

Form for baking grease with butter. Pour the mass into shape, put the remaining oil and the parts distributed over the surface of the Kugel. Put the mould in the oven and bake for 45 minutes. Bake until then, until the Kugel is not clutch and the top forms a Golden crust. Recommended to serve Kugel warm or hot. But cold it's delicious!

To the casserole you can prepare fruit glaze. The sugar dissolves in the fruit juice and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Do a test: take a bit of syrup and drip in a glass of cold water. Should be a steady drop. Or drip syrup on the plate, it should not be spread.

A bowl of ready-made frosting and put in cold water and stir. Fruit frosting hardens a little.

While the glaze does not become very thick, pour the pudding on top and serve. Bon appetit!
