Cooking

step-0
Cooking time does not include cooking the beans. Overnight to soak the beans in cold water, I only had red. The next day drain the water and cook the beans in a saucepan filled with water, covered for 45 minutes. The beans turned out quite hard, if you want it soft, cook for 1.5 hours.
step-1
Cut ham in small cubes, remove the hryaschik and skin. I smoked ham found and got smoked carbonate. Clean onions (I do without onions, don't like it), garlic and finely chop. Clean the carrots and cut into cubes.
step-2
Heat olive or vegetable oil and fry over high heat ham.
step-3
Put in pan with onion, if using, garlic and fry until transparent, then add carrots and simmer everything for a few minutes.
step-4
Finally add the tomatoes with juice.
step-5
Mash them with a fork. All season with salt and pepper, add the paprika and Cayenne pepper, put a Bay leaf.
step-6
Simmer all for 15 minutes, add the beans, pour the broth (I took just water), pour into pots and put in the oven at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes. If there are no pots, you can just after adding beans to stew 15 minutes, I just wanted to update new pots =) had to pour in 4 pot, but I only had 3, so filled chock-full of them =)
step-7
When the pots are ready, sprinkle the dish with lime juice (or lemon) and serve with corn bread or tortillas. I served with rye bread.
step-8
It was very tasty and satisfying, one pot is enough for several times to eat, but Papa ate his pot of all at once =)
step-9
Took the recipe here from one of those cards, to me they come a few times a month, the dishes are very different, it is always interesting to try something new =)
step-10
Bon appetit! =)
