Description

Sandwich
CROC Monsieur was invented in 1910 in Paris, in a cafe on the Boulevard des Capucines, near the Opera. The original "crock" (in French "croque" means "bite") was called a piece of bread soaked in beaten eggs and pan-fried. He probably was the predecessor of the sandwich "Croque Monsieur". By the way,"Croque Monsieur"-it's almost a legend. Mentions it in his novels of the great writer Marcel Proust. And what of the Paris student not besmirch the pages of books, holding a "Croque Monsieur"? Recipe found in the book "Eat French". The site has a similar recipe, but this one is different.
