Description
From Wikipedia: Gumentsi - triangles with poppy seeds - a sweet pastry of Jewish cuisine. Traditionally prepared for the holiday of Purim. (Purim, from Akkadian Puru — lots) — Jewish holiday, celebrated according to the biblical Book of Esther (Esther)[1 ] in memory of the rescue of Jews living on the territory of the Persian Empire from destruction by Haman-an Amalekite, a favorite of Persian king Artaxerxes (Ahasuerus) In Israel they are called Oznei Haman in Hebrew means "Haman's Ears" - presumably an allusion to the fact that the villain Haman was executed, and he cut off the ears. I can only say that these cakes are very tasty, so would recommend.
