Cooking
Whisk a quarter Cup of softened butter with a glass of sugar, add a Cup of cream, 1 egg and vanilla. Whisk again, so all the ingredients are mixed. In a separate bowl, mix 2 cups flour, salt and baking powder. I departed from the recipe and instead of vanilla added mahlab (mahleb, mahlepi - special seeds of wild cherry, which are ground into powder. The fragrance combines notes of cherries and almonds).
Parts add the flour to the butter mixture, gently stirring with a wooden spoon. In the recipe listed 2 cups of flour, but I sometimes take more (depending on flour).
The dough was very soft and tender. The main thing is not to hurry and not to mix too much flour, otherwise the cookies will be too dense.
Now create our cookies. Traditionally it is done in the form of small balls with pointy ends, like rounded diamonds. For variety, I also just make balls. We spread our little cookies on the baking tray lined with oiled parchment paper on a small distance from each other.
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees and put the cookies for 15 minutes. The cookies cooled. In the photo - half portion.
Traditionally, the cookie collapses in powdered sugar and generously sprinkled with cinnamon. But also decorate it in other ways (according to your taste): chocolate (milk, white), nuts, sesame, coconut, etc. Decorate the cookies according to your taste.
Stored in a tightly closed box in the refrigerator to eat but cookies are better at room temperature.
Our fun-filled cookie is very soft and creamy, and decorate it - a pleasure!
Bon appetit! Smile and enjoy your life!
