Description
Piparkook. With the onset of Christmas in all the stores of different countries appears in the sale of fragrant, beautiful cookies. Estonian "Piparkook" - pipar - pepper kook - a pie, a cake. I love this biscuit because of the abundance of spices. But I always bought it to give to those who look at the light. Cookies bright with unusual taste. Now I love and bake cookies myself. The dough is made long before the holiday. Sometimes I have little helpers, but this time decorated cookies myself. The helpers got sick. Children really like to paint cookies. How nice for me to return to childhood!

Cooking
Pour water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. All the spices, sugar, salt to pour out. Stir and remove from heat, cover with a lid. Sifted flour pour into a bowl. Add the egg, liquid butter. Water with spices strain, add the malt and soda. Mix well. A thin stream pour the liquid into the flour and mix well.
The dough turned out dark because of the malt. From spices it is very aromatic. (I make the dough in advance and put them in the freezer. The day before baking take out and keep in the fridge).
Two hours before baking the dough spread on the table. It is soft, elastic and well rolled, not stick to hands and rolling pin.
Molds cut out dough cookies.
Cookies in the form of mushrooms, heart-shaped, month, stars and sun. Lay cookies on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Lubricate the top of cookies with egg yolk. Bake for 10 minutes in a hot oven at 180 degrees... (the photo at the top of the dough and a small piece from the previous recipe. Top left two snowflakes too of dough from the previous recipe. I wanted to show the difference in color of the test).
Now you need to paint on your taste. Well, if in this case will involve small children! For airbrushing I bought the protein color the frosting. (Not always in the store she sometimes. Then I whip the whites with sugar powder. For color add food coloring, but usually use white frosting).
Here's a look at what I draftsman-artist... Maybe not very nice, was running out of time. But at work treated to their visits, and they approved, but still said, "not too lazy to bother?"
The icing hardens quickly. The most beautiful were selected and removed in a bag for younger guests.
The rest of the cookies put in the basket. Congratulations to you, dear cooks and our guests, merry Christmas!!! Good Luck To You!!!
