Description
This is a very cozy, warming, fragrant soup, ideal for cold days. The combination of lentils, tomatoes and meat is very harmonious, the soy sauce adds an interesting depth of flavor, and the thyme adds an incredible flavor. Preparing the soup pretty quickly, because it does not require a long cooking soup. But it turns out very rich and nourishing. My family appreciated the soup on high, I hope that he will love.

Cooking
One onion and a carrot cut into small cubes. In a deep skillet, heat the oil, fry the onion until transparent, add the carrots and fry all together for few minutes until Golden brown onions. Pour 3-4 tbsp of soy sauce
Add to the pan the tomatoes in their own juice with the juice, and pour the water. Put on a big fire.
Prepare the meatballs. Forcemeat mix with grated on a small grater half the onions and the breadcrumbs. I use homemade breadcrumbs with herbs. Add 2 tbsp of soy sauce.
Knead the dough and form small meatballs.
When the soup comes to a boil, drop meatballs into the pan, reduce the heat to a light "bubbling" and cook the soup for 10-15 minutes.
Add to soup, the lentils, cook for another 15 minutes. At the end of cooking add thyme leaves. I also add it to soup a little sugar to balance the slight acid from the tomatoes and to emphasize the sweetness of the onions. A half-teaspoon of sugar can completely transform the soup, try it. Bon appetit!
