Ingredients

  • Hazelnuts

    100 g

  • Butter

    125 g

  • Sugar

    370 g

  • Yogurt

    260 g

  • Chicken egg

  • Flour

  • Semolina

    185 g

  • Leavening agent

    2 tsp

  • Water

    185 ml

  • Orange juice

    2 Tbsp

Maybe someone will have a question, what is Greek yogurt. It is a thick yoghurt. To make it plain yogurt (about 2 times more than I expect to) you need to drain in cheesecloth for a few hours, preferably overnight. So, to prepare the pie preheat the oven to 180 gr. The form (23 cm) vystelit baking paper. 55 g of nuts grind into flour.

With a mixer beat the butter with 215 g (1 Cup.) sugar.

Add yogurt, zest, and yolks. Blend again.

Sift on top the flour, semolina and baking powder. Mix.

Separately, whip the whites. Gently add them to the dough.

Spoon the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the surface. Coarsely chop remaining nuts and sprinkle over the top of the pie.

Bake for 40 minutes until Golden brown and dry toothpick.

While pie is baking, in a small saucepan connect 185 ml (3/4 Cup.) water, 155 g (3/4 Cup.) sugar and 2 tbsp of orange juice. Heat on low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then bring to a boil and let simmer 5 minutes. We must not interfere. The resulting syrup pour on hot cake. Lift the cake slightly around the edges, so that the syrup leaked under it and the cake they are evenly saturated.
