Description

Beef braised with pomegranate juice
This is a dish I "invented" in a period of fascination with Georgian cuisine - hence the name:-) Turned out so well that now I often cook it when you get bored of the traditional ways of stewing meat. The beef is incredibly juicy, in a delicious thick sauce, sour! Try it!

Ingredients

  • Beef

    700 g

  • Onion

    2 piece

  • Walnuts

  • Pomegranate juice

    100 ml

  • Semi-sweet red wine

    100 ml

  • Water

    150 ml

  • Garlic

    2 tooth

  • Spices

  • Vegetable oil

    2 Tbsp

  • Starch

    1 tsp

  • Salt

Cooking

step-0
Onion cut into half rings, simmer in a deep saucepan on a slow fire with butter until clear. Add the meat cut into strips, and cover with a lid. Also simmer on low heat under a lid for 10-15 minutes
step-1
Once the meat will be juicy and will change its color, add to the saucepan 100 grams of pomegranate juice, wine and water. Leave without lid for 5 minutes.
step-2
Meanwhile with a sharp knife finely chop the walnuts (you can grind in a blender, if you don't really like nut flavour). Garlic finely chop.
step-3
In a saucepan add the nuts, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper to taste, cover and simmer for about half an hour
step-4
Starch diluted in 50 ml of cold water. When the dish is almost ready (as in this photo), pour a thin stream to the sauce. Cover and then another 10 minutes.
step-5
That's all. Our meat is ready! I was served with buckwheat noodles - very tasty combination! Bon appétit!
