Cooking
Soak the gelatin in 1/4 Cup cold water, allow to swell and dissolve it in a water bath before full dissolution (do not boil). Cool and mix with mayonnaise.
Beets grate on a fine grater. Carrots to RUB on a small grater. Potatoes on a coarse grater. Herring cut into pieces (pre-clearing and removing the seeds).
On the table lay plastic wrap (in several bands, preferably several layers). To the beets add 3-4 tablespoons mayonnaise gelatin mixture, stir and put a layer on the film (rectangular layer).
The next layer is cream cheese, which also need to add 2 to 3 tablespoons mayonnaise gelatin mixture. Attention! Each subsequent layer must be smaller. The next layer - potatoes, which you will also add 2 -3 tbsp of the mixture.
After potatoes is a layer of carrots (2 -3 tbsp).
In the middle of the carrot layer put the pieces of herring.
Now carefully, holding the edges of the film from two sides (it is better that at the moment you have someone to help), roll roll all our layers (with little effort).
The edges of the film wrap. Now we have to wrap the loaf in foil and remove for a few hours in the fridge. Cut with a sharp knife.
