Beet salad with walnuts
I recently read somewhere that the potato is the king of root vegetables, and beet Queen. Boiled beets, unlike many other vegetables, are able to maintain their main useful properties.

Ingredients

  • Beets

    2 piece

  • Leeks

    1 piece

  • Walnuts

    100 g

  • Garlic

    2 tooth

  • Ketchup

    2 Tbsp

  • Sugar

    1 tsp

  • Spices

  • Olive oil

Cooking

Cut leeks and fry in a small amount of olive oil.

Beets grate on a coarse grater or pass through a food processor, add to the onions, simmer for 15 minutes or longer (I love crispy beets). While cooked beets, chop walnuts and garlic.

The beets add a teaspoon of sugar and a tablespoon of ketchup, salt, pepper to taste and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Turn off the oven, the beets add the garlic and nuts, mix all and leave to cool, covering with a lid. Beets to soak up the flavor of the garlic and nuts. BON APPETIT!
