Traditional Dutch biscuits with marzipan
Traditional Dutch cookies with marzipan, moderately sweet, serve it with coffee or hot chocolate. For unknown reasons this cookie uses a large and especially popular with the male half of the population...

Ingredients

  • Flour

    240 g

  • Sugar

    120 g

  • Lemon peel

    1 tsp

  • Cinnamon

    0.5 tsp

  • Salt

  • Leavening agent

    1 tsp

  • Butter

    180 g

  • Yolk egg

    1 piece

  • Marzipan

    150 g

  • Chicken egg

    1 piece

Cooking

Flour, sugar, zest, cinnamon, baking powder and salt, mix and add the cold butter, diced.

Oil the hands RUB it into the flour until the oil crumbs.

To these crumbs add the egg yolk and, as needed, a couple of tablespoons of cold water and knead a dough.

If the dough is while kneading the warmed, put into the fridge if left cold, then roll out to a thickness of 3 mm. Cut out an even number of circles with a diameter of 7-9 cm

On each circle put a flapjack marzipan, grease the edges with water and cover with another circle of dough, lightly pressing the edges.

Decorate traditionally with half peeled almonds, I decorated the cut out dough Christmas figures. Christmas, after all, is not far off!

Biscuit lubricated with egg and bake in the oven at 180*C for 30-40 minutes, until nice Golden color. Cookies well re-coat with the egg, about 10 minutes before it's ready.
