Description
Was found on the Internet cookie recipe interested me with its simplicity of cooking and stuffing. The recipe refers to the national English cuisine, as they were invented in the 13th century in Oxfordshire, at Banbury, in fact, hence the name. His "highlight" is a combination of different dried fruits, spices and a little alcohol. Honestly, so delicious cookies I have not tried for a long time.

Cooking
First, put the defrosted dough. Of course, it is unlikely the medieval British used the ready dough, but why don't we take advantage of the achievements of your time and not to make your life easier. While the dough is defrosting, prepare a filling. Softened butter should be rubbed with honey.
To honey oil add spices: cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Just do not confuse them, peppers should be fragrant, but not any other kind of it. Pour a spoonful of rum or brandy. This is what alcohol is indicated in the original recipe, but I have not found, so did brandy. All mix well until smooth, whisking is not necessary.
Both kinds of raisins and dried fruit, in my case, dried cranberries, washed and dried.
Mix oil mixture and dried fruits. Our fragrant spicy filling is ready.
Now back to the dough. Slightly roll it, it must be with a thickness of about 0.5 cm Cut out circles, I used a regular faceted glass.
On each circle of dough spread one teaspoon of the filling. The egg will divide until smooth and coat them the edge.
Will zasebnem the edges, lifting them to the top in the form of a pouch.
The prepared billet to roll over and roll out slightly but do not overdo it, the thickness of the cookie somewhere 1 see
Put biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet. Their top lubricated with the remaining egg and sprinkle with sugar. Make a few incisions with a knife.
Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 25-30 minutes, until Golden brown. The aromas floating while in the kitchen, just crazy.
In the recipe I found suggest have cookies slightly warm, and indeed it is. Crispy base, spicy, fragrant and juicy filling... What could be better than a Cup of tea.
