Italian doughnuts
Orange-Apple cider doughnuts-Italian Zeppole (Zeppole). Donuts that are ready in 10 minutes. The dough can be prepared in advance, it will stay in the fridge (covered with foil) for up to two days, just have to get and cook.

Ingredients

  • Flour

    300 g

  • Leavening agent

    1.5 tsp

  • Sugar

    80 g

  • Orange juice

    100 ml

  • Lemon peel

  • Apple

    0.5 piece

  • Milk

    60 g

  • Alcohol

    30 g

  • Chicken egg

    1 piece

  • Powdered sugar

  • Sunflower oil

  • Salt

    1 pinch

  • Vanilla

    1 pinch

Cooking

1. Grate the zest (my lemon), and squeeze the juice of half an orange (100-110 ml).

2. Then grate the half-peeled skin of an Apple.

3. Pour in a bowl the juice, zest and grated Apple

4. On top pour the sifted flour (300 g), baking powder (1.5 tsp.), sugar (80 g), a small pinch of salt and vanilla.

5. Pour in the milk (60 g), add 1 egg and 30 grams of alcohol for taste. I have wine, one can of brandy, whisky, cognac.

6. Knead a stiff dough. If it is too liquid — add more flour (2 tbsp). The dough will stick to hands and shoulder blade. The spoon drops with difficulty.

7. Take sunflower oil and heat over medium heat in a small saucepan with high sides. Gently spread the batter to the skillet. When frying, the dough will double. Form of donuts at your discretion. I put the dough in a bag, cut a hole and squeezed these are the "sausages" into the hot oil. Cut the dough with scissors.

8. Ready donuts spread on a paper towel and then place on a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Bon appetit! P. S. the site has a donut recipe "Zeppole", but the ingredients different. There are many recipes of this delicacy.
