I didn't have carrots, and I really wanted herring under a fur coat. Decided to replace it with eggs.

Cooking
I cook in a double boiler. Very convenient and fast.
Herring cleaned, remove all the innards (if there are eggs or milt they can also be used), bone. Finely chop.
Cut onion into strips and pour of 6% vinegar. Allow to stand for 5 minutes,then wash. Rinse need to ensure that the vinegar is not felt strongly. Like it is, but its not.
Laid in seledochnitsy or dish herring, on her bow (it needs a good squeeze). Pour lightly with vegetable oil (I love the smell).
Now the coat. The potato strips.
Season with a little salt. Mayonnaise.
Beet strips. When I cook beets (either in a double boiler or in a saucepan), add the sugar. In a double boiler just beets sprinkled, as in a saucepan in the water.
Eggs I decided to make jewelry. Proteins just rubbed on a grater and put on the salad. Mayonnaise is not lubricated. Protein was not enough, but beneath them beautiful translucent beets. From egg yolks I made a fish. Just cut out on parchment paper fish, put it (paper) on the salad (the fish cut along the contour, roughly speaking fish is the hole :-*). Free from paper space peppered grated on a fine grater yolk. Decorated with greens (algae). Salad is better to stand a little to soak. Bon appetit!
