Meatballs in potato and tomato sauce
This dish loves my husband, cooked his grandmother and mother who were born and most of his life he lived in the South of Russia in the glorious city of Taganrog. However, there is a dish called simply and elegantly - "sauce" and cook it with pork. Pork, I forgot to take out from the freezer, but the ground beef and then I turned up. Easy, not troublesome and delicious dish for dinner. Help yourself!

Ingredients

  • Minced meat

    500 g

  • Salt

    1 tsp

  • Chicken egg

  • Thyme

    1 pinch

  • Potatoes

    4 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Tomato

    4 piece

  • Garlic

    3 tooth

  • Bay leaf

    1 piece

  • Water

    500 ml

  • Sugar

    1 Tbsp

  • Salt

    1 tsp

  • Peppers red hot chilli

  • Vegetable oil

    3 Tbsp

  • Dill

Our ingredients are. Instead of fresh tomatoes I used a jar (400 g) of canned peeled tomatoes in their own juice.

Add to the minced egg, salt and thyme, knead well. Forming small round meatballs and fry them in vegetable oil until light it will turn brown.

Peel onions, potatoes and garlic. Onion cut arbitrarily, potatoes - slices, cubes, or other artistic forms.

Heat the pan with oil, put onion and fry until soft 4 minutes. If you are preparing a simple dish with slices of pork, it should fry together with an onion, then boil to simmer along with the potatoes 30-40 minutes.

Spread the potatoes to the onions, pour water, add salt and throw 1-2 leaf Lavrushka. Cover with a lid, bring to a boil and cook for 20-25 minutes until potatoes get soft. If the potatoes are intended for cooking, it should partially lose their shape, ie be soft after boiling. I came across a stubborn potato, to the last kept true to form. But we will win it the other way...

Harvested leaves Lavrushka. Spread the tomatoes. Stir and simmer for another 5 minutes. Then take the pestle and push relentlessly stubborn potatoes. Without fanaticism, small lumps have a right to exist. Add in sauce, sugar and pepper, optional and to taste. If you just have fresh tomatoes, you need to cut each in half and grate so that the skin remains in your hand.

In the sauce, put meatballs and passed through press the garlic. Stir and heat over a minute and remove from heat.
