Chicken with figs in port wine
I'm a fan of unusual combinations, so always happy to keep and try these recipes. One of them I have found on the Internet, but try bothered today. The result is stunning. Husband said I deserve a crown))

Ingredients

  • Chicken

    6 piece

  • Cards

    12 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Garlic

    10 tooth

  • Cumin

    1 tsp

  • Wine red sweet

    250 ml

  • Lemon

    1 piece

  • Almonds

    1 handful

  • Salt

  • Parsley

    4 Tbsp

Here's everything you need to prepare the ingredients. Port I took the red "Crimean" .

Coat chicken with a mixture of peppers, a little salt and fry in a hot pan in small amount of oil on both sides until Golden brown. Pieces to put in a heatproof dish, which then will bake.

Cut onion into half rings, garlic cloves into large pieces, fry until Golden brown.

Add to the frying pan to the onions with the garlic, thyme, port wine, zest and lemon juice, bring to a boil. Then, there the same, add the almonds, dates and half of the parsley. (Sorry, photo is terrible quality, because alcohol immediately began to evaporate, and a pair of do not give a clear picture.)

Pour the obtained sauce fried chicken. Cover with a lid (my shape cover is not provided, I covered with foil) and send in a preheated 180 degree oven for about an hour and a half. If possible, periodically pour the sauce. (This time I didn't water, it was inconvenient to open and close the foil.)

Take out the chicken, spread on plates, not forgetting the sauce and figs, sprinkle with parsley and serve)
