Egyptian red lentil soup
This is one of the most delicious soups I have ever tasted. Its roots go back far into ancient Egypt. They say that even Cleopatra loved to eat this delicious and healthy soup.

Ingredients

  • Water

    5 cup

  • Lentils

    1 cup

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Potatoes

    4 piece

  • Garlic

    8 tooth

  • Vegetable oil

    1 Tbsp

  • Cumin

    2 tsp

  • Turmeric

    0.5 tsp

  • Salt

    1 tsp

  • Allspice

  • Lemon

    1 piece

  • Cilantro

In a saucepan, pour water (or broth), put the lentils, onion (finely chopped), potatoes (chopped into small cubes) and garlic (whole cloves). Cover with a lid and bring to the boil. Then slightly diminish the fire and cook for 15-20 minutes until the lentils are tender and vegetables.

It turns out to be soup. Turn off the heat and ostavljam on the stove.

In a small frying pan, pour oil and slightly heated. Then dobavlen cumin, turmeric, salt and pepper. Well peremeshivaem about 1 minute. Then add this mixture to the soup.
