Description
These muffins make for the carnival not only in Estonia (vastlakukkel) and in Sweden (semla), Denmark (fastelavnsboller) and in Finland (laskiaisрulla). It would seem that these rolls are the same. The only difference is the filling and topping. In Estonia they are usually stuffed with cranberries, in Sweden, almonds, in Denmark, sprinkle with colored coconut and colored cream, and in Finland scones stuffed with strawberry jam or marzipan.
