Gingerbread honey with lemon
Like carrots since childhood, and now I bake them myself... the Recipe of gingerbread I got from the book "Traditional Russian cuisine".

Ingredients

  • Flour

    1 cup

  • Honey

    100 g

  • Sugar

    100 g

  • Butter

    50 g

  • Water

    50 ml

  • Lemon peel

    0.5 tsp

  • Yolk egg

    1 piece

  • Soda

    0.4 tsp

Cooking

Mix water and sugar, put on a slow fire. Add the honey. Stirring constantly, to completely dissolve the sugar and honey.

Stirring occasionally, bring mixture to a boil over medium heat.

Remove from the heat. Sift flour and add 3/4 Cup of flour into the mixture.

Stir quickly and gently until a thick mass.

The resulting dough is cooled. And while the dough cools, three lemon zest.

In the chilled dough add the softened butter, stir.

Soda mixed with 1 tablespoon flour and add to the dough. Add the zest and the remaining flour.

Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. There may need more flour to the dough does not stick to hands.

Then roll the dough in a thick layer, cut out the gingerbread shapes. You can just roll small balls and flatten with the bottom of the mug.

Grease the cakes with egg yolk.

Bake in the oven until Golden brown at 200 degrees.
