Candy citrus peel with nuts
Candy with a pronounced citrus flavor and a nice pohrustyvanie pieces of nuts. When I made these candies, they immediately liked it, but no one was able to guess what they are made. A bit like Turkish delight... yeah, so, with the addition of starch? But, no! Only two main components - the crust and sugar turns out such a delicious and interesting treat.

Ingredients

  • Almonds

    0.5 cup

  • Sugar

    1 cup

  • Lemon

    1 cup

  • Orange

    1 cup

  • Powdered sugar

I did two version of the candy - orange and lemon, turned out equally delicious. Can only use one type of citrus. Crust cut into medium-sized pieces of arbitrary shape. Beautifully cut optional anyway then all this beauty will be milled in a slurry. I did not designate what quantity of fruit used rind, but the glass needs to be densely filled crusts to the top. Put crust in pan, fill with cold water, bring to a boil and cook until tender. I usually boil the peel for one hour, changing the water three times during this time.

Drain off water, peel and let cool a bit smallive them with a blender or grinder into a homogeneous mass.

Put in a saucepan mashed crusts, fill with sugar. Stirring, bring to a boil, cook over low heat eight minutes. During this time excess moisture is evaporated, the mass becomes thick and dense. Be sure to stir it from time to time and make sure that it does not overheat.

Grind nuts into crumbs. To the flour to bring is not necessary. I used the peeled off skins of the almonds, but these sweets you can put any kind of nuts.

Chopped nuts added to the citrus mass, cook for another 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside from heat and wait until the mixture is completely cooled to room temperature.

Formed from the mass of the balls, I got 24 pieces. Leave them at room temperature until crisp. Then dip them in powdered sugar or chopped nuts.
