Description
Sand-layered, slightly salty dough and fruity notes of toppings create the perfect composition for autumn tea. We can't eat dates because of their cloying (to our taste!), but here they "look" very harmonious. Sandwiches very much. You can apply for a festive table and to take along for a quick snack. Cooking
Mix the sifted flour, soda and sugar.
Cold butter cut into small pieces.
Add the butter to the flour and chop all the ingredients together with a knife in the crumb.
Mix with a fork egg, soy sauce "Kikkoman" (I use the sauce with less salt) and Apple cider vinegar.
Add the egg mixture into the flour and knead homogeneous dough not stick. If the dough will crumble, then add a little milk if it is to sticky then add more flour. Cover with a towel and leave to rest.
While resting the dough, dates remove seeds (weight with bone) and mince. Add vanilla and citric acid and mix thoroughly. Instead of citric acid you can use lemon (1 PCs.) from which to remove the stones, to cut slices and together with dates mince.
Roll out the dough with a tortilla or rectangle (your preference) on one half, apply a thin layer with no gap filling, short by half an inch to the brim, cover with the second half, to take the edge and, pressing lightly, rolled with a rolling pin to release the air and make thinner. The finished envelope will be about 6 x 12 cm and a height of 4 mm.
Bake in a preheated waffle iron. I have a waffle iron of the Soviet Union. In baking, the waffle will be baked unevenly, the waffle maker will look like a open book, so in the middle of the process the wafer will need to turn from yourself and continue the baking process.
